With reference to her last letter of 6th instant, I am commanded by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to acquaint you, for the information of the Duke of Newcastle, that they will not, under the circumstances, withhold their sanction to the supplementary estimate for the erection of a new School near Castle Walk and connecting Arcade, Central School, Hong Kong, amounting to $5209.50.
But they concur with Him in the objections which He proposes to adduce to the Acting Governor of Hong Kong to the course which has been followed.
