I am directed by the Directors of the Agra and Master Service Bank Limited to acknowledge receipt of your letter of the 4th instant stating that the Lords Commissioners of H.M. Treasury have informed the Secretary of State for Colonies that they have withdrawn their objection to the receipt of the notes of the Bank Treasury of Hong Kong, provided the Bank is willing to engage to submit to the regulations imposed by the Royal Charter of Incorporation in the case of Colonial Banks, regarding the publication of returns of circulation, the denomination of notes issued, the maintenance of a reserve equal to one third of the circulation and the inspection of accounts by government.
I am also directed by the Directors to express their acknowledgments to the Lords Commissioners of H.M. Treasury and to assure their Lordships that the Bank engages to submit to the regulations which are imposed by the Royal Charter of Incorporation in the case of Colonial Banks.
