in the East Indies without the previous consent of the Local Governments them on the position of the Bank in a Crown Colony-

as respects the East Indies the objection has been waived by the government of India in the recognition of the Bank as well

Established Institution - such as the

invidious question before this Board refers only to the position which the Bank should be allowed to hold within the Colony of Hong Kong

Under these circumstances

they are willing to withdraw their objection to the receipt of the sterling drafts and specie by the Bank

to be held at Hong Kong - provided that the Bank will engage to submit to the regulations which are imposed by the Royal Charters of the Corporation in the case of Colonial Banks - regarding the publication of returns of circulation, the denomination of Notes issued, the maintenance of a reserve equal to one third of the circulation and the inspection of the reserves by the government
