We beg leave to enclose Copies of reports of Committees of Survey which we are in the habit of receiving the Accounts of the Colony of the Mauritius, with a view to their transmission to Hong Kong for future guidance of the Colonial Officers who may be appointed to take surveys of the Chest.

In obedience to the Memorandum of the Governor under date the undersigned, Block proceeded, this day at to the Colonial Treasury in order to examine and ascertain, the contents of the Treasury Vault and how far the accounts are correct with reference to the accounts of the Colonial Treasurer, and also to ascertain what security, bonds and other documents or articles of value are deposited in the said Vault; and, we have the honor to report that we found, the amounts hereunder mentioned.
