With reference to your letter dated 4th August, 1862 conveying the directions of the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury that the necessary steps should be taken by this Department for the preparation of Silver and Copper pieces subsidiary to the dollar, for circulation, in accordance with the recommendations of Mr. H. Robinson, I have the honor to acquaint you for the information of their Lordships that the press referred to have been prepared accordingly and packed and ready for shipment, with the exception of a portion of the Copper Coins, which are being executed by Mr. Heaton of Birmingham under contract.

I have now to apply for further instructions.
