commanded, by the Lords
Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury, to
transmit to you, herewith, two Letters from the Colonial Office dated 11 January and 12th February
respectively, with the enclosures, which accompanied them relating to
certain defalcations in the
Colonial Treasury at Hong Kong.
I am at the same time to transmit to
you herewith a letter from the Colonial Office dated 25th January 1862, with its enclosures,
from which it would appear, that security
has been
given by the two Shroffs in the Colonial Treasury, who
appear
to be
responsible for the amount in default;
I am to request, that you
will advise
their Lordships whether, having reference
to the separate security given by the two Shroffs
