Senin I had the honour to receive,
众 Metin of the 28th Oct. I have been endeavouring to ascertain if, amongst the senior Graduates and Students of this University, there is any one disposed to offer himself for the Appointment lately held by the Colonial Chaplain at Hong Kong, and where I could recommend for that office.
Quite recently I succeeded in finding one Young gentleman, very well qualified, who had applied to fill the office, but was deterred on learning the amount of Salary offered, and, from what he had heard of the Reforms of being in teaching,
