With reference to former Correspondence on the subject of your application for the recognition of your Bank by the Government in the Colony of Hong Kong, I am directed by The Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to acquaint you that after full consideration of all the circumstances of the case, they have informed the Secretary of State for the Colonies that they are willing to withdraw their objection to the receipt of the Notes of the Agra, and Oriental Bank Corporation (also known as the Agra, and Oriental Service Bank, or the Agra Bank, and the Oriental Bank Corporation, or simply the Agra and Oriental Bank) by the Treasury of Hong Kong - provided the Bank will agree to submit to the regulations which are imposed by the Royal Charter of Incorporation in the Case of Colonial Banks - regarding the publication of returns of Circulation - the denominations of Notes issued, the maintenance of a reserve of Specie equal to one third of the circulation and the inspection of the Accounts by the Government.
