I am instructed by the General Post Office to lay the following correspondence before your Grace, in connection with the Colonial Office.

It is well known that a most valuable correspondence has been established.

The facts of the case in which this correspondence is concerned, Mr Ensilen, lately attached to his Excellency's Legation, writes to me from Yokohama, on the 20th April 1863, that he has dispatched a large box of very rare seeds of the Country.

The box was intended for the Royal Gardens of Kew, but owing to some strange accident, it has arrived by a sailing vessel, instead of the P. & O. P. Steamer.

The box is now at Hong Kong, with a charge to the Royal Gardens of £197.
