Referring to your letters of the bost, 58106 and 58102, in reference to the naval appointment of Superintendent of the Convict Hulk at Store Cutters Island Hong Kong, I have the honour to statey for information of Suntory her George Tony Mat the two Deputy Jonors who were reported to me as well qualified, are unable to accept the Appointment.
I have however informed that Donald Bain now Principal Harbour Master at the Convict Prison Gibraltar, is very suitable for the vacant post, and well qualified for it. I would repeatfully suggest that it be offered to him. He formerly served as a Prison Officer in Hong Kong.
