Mr Tomlin was formerly a Commissioned Officer in the Army, and he began his career in the Bermuda Convict Service as an Execution Warder, from which capacity he was promoted to be Clerk of the Establishment.
It is expected that the Station was up to the mark. Mr Tomlin will leave this Colony for Hongkong by the first Steamer that sails about the 5th of December and he will be entitled to full Salary from the date of embarkation.
