an
Executive Officer, from which capacity he was promoted to be Chief Clerk
of
the Establishment.
I therefore strongly recommend him for the appointments. If this be approved a despatch to the Governor should state the foregoing particulars. Half salary to commence
on the date
of
his embarkation. He will be ready
to sail by the first Steamer in the month of
December. Passage should be
ordered in the Second cabin
for himself, his wife, and two Children aged respectively 2 and 4 years.
With regard to giving security, the Governor should be told that to demand this
of persons of
the rank
of those
who can be procured for
small appointments would
render a selection almost
impossible, and therefore that
the Secretary of
State has not
the requirement.
THE 10 Nov.
