was corrected to
and some obvious OCR errors were fixed, e.g. "Sher" -> "Her", "Llunia" -> likely "China", "requets" -> "request", "Conned" -> "Council", "MIPUTE" -> "ATTORNEY", "Story Kory" -> "Hong Kong", "Elnia" -> "China", "f" and other lone characters or nonsensical words were either removed or left as is if they represented a possible original scan artifact, "thesep" and "ho 1808" were left as is due to uncertainty, "Sept to 1868" was corrected to "Sept. 1868", "buitenant" -> "Lieutenant", and some formatting was applied for better readability. The original text's structure and content were maintained as closely as possible.
