Merchandize Marks Ordinance 1863.
This Ordinance is substantially a transcript of the Imperial Act "The Merchandize Marks Act 1862" with the few verbal alterations necessary to adopt the Act into a Colonial Ordinance and with a conversion of Sterling penalties into penalties in Dollars to an amount in some degree approaching the difference in the value of money here.
The local Ordinance regulating proceedings before magistrates has been referred to in section 16 - instead of the Imperial Statute 11 and 12 Vic. C: 43 which is not in force here.
