This was passed into an Ordinance on the 22nd distant, numbered 8 of 1863, and entitled "An Ordinance to prevent the fraudulent marking of Merchandize".
I enclose copies of it herewith and the Attorney General's Minute, no. 4.
I have to ask your Excellency's recommendation of the Ordinance for Her Most Gracious Majesty's approval and confirmation.

This Act is the result of the question of Trade. It is for the Board of Trade, therefore, would be dealt with in the Department. It will probably be sent to the Board of Trade for consideration before it is confirmed and if so that Dept. will be made aware of the measure adopted at Hong Kong.
