Wusaib - having made declaration - deprosette. I am a prisoner on board the Convict Hulk. On the evening of the 1st July 23 Instant I was one number of prisoners in the last boat that came from the shore to the Hulk. I do not know how many prisoners were in the boat - it seemed to be the usual number - the boat was not much crowded.
I was sitting at the stern of the boat when the boat arrived alongside the Hulk the prisoners exhibited the usual eagerness to get on board, and crowded to the ladder some of those getting up fell back against the others and there was a crowding to one side of the boat and the boat went over to the outer side away from the ship. It happened that I had a rope hanging hold of over the side and I clung to this and got up the side without being thoroughly immersed.
It appeared to me that the large conveyance to carry the number of prisoners in the boat, and that the motioning of the prisoners to the side to get on board that caused the boat...
