bin is used as a receptacle for all sorts of garbage and vegetable matter which, especially in summer, emit most offensive effluviums. We trust that the remedying of these evils may be taken into consideration by you, but respectfully suggest that a more eligible site be selected for a dust bin, as the present one being in the centre of a populous and crowded thoroughfare, its deleterious effects are more peculiarly realised in the neighbourhood.

To Henry J. Ball, Esq., and the gentlemen of the Committee for Sanitary purposes. Gentlemen,
We beg to bring before your notice that the Public Receptacle for Filth in the Queen's Road, immediately below our premises in Aberdeen Street, has for a long time been a very serious nuisance to us from the dreadful stench that arises therefrom, and which increases in intensity according to the temperature. We beg to request your kind attention to our grievance to the intent that the nuisance may be inspected in order that it may be abated.
