The sites of the graves of the Chinese, and their depth, are subjects of great importance to the sanitary condition of the Colony not to be noticed. The Committee have reason to believe, that the Government have already moved in this matter; but they would suggest that the Chinese burial places should be confined within certain distant limits, in the event of the land being required by the Government.

The Committee, having thus discharged the duty imposed upon them by His Excellency the Acting Governor, earnestly recommend their report to his favorable consideration, with a view to the adoption of the remedies proposed: and they respectfully urge, that during the approaching cool weather and in anticipation of the ensuing hot season, as much advantage as practicable may be taken of the favorable time, in order to limit, with due regard to, the evils which it has been their duty
