I had the honor to receive your letter yesterday whilst I was in Court for the sixth day of our monthly Criminal Sessions, the prosecutions in which have occupied my time and thoughts and will engross my attention entirely until midday.

Inclosure from the Treasury being an abstract of the Colonial accounts as to the whole amount abstracted by the Shroff, made good by the surety of the 16th Shroff, nothing being recovered by the surety of N. 101 of 29th July last.
Supplying to this Letter, you state that His Grace the Colonial Secretary desires an explanation of the immunity given to the Shroff's securities.
