(Extract)

1863 July 20

Name | Crime | Day of Trial | Verdict | Sentence | Remarks

Thomas Quinton | | | | |

Robert Jackson! | | | | | These three prisoners had been sent down from the Consular Court at Shanghae for trial for murder, in accordance with the order in Council dated 13th June 1853.

John Dickson, Placed at the Bar by order of the Court | | 316 | | |

I found upon enquiring of the Attorney General in Court on the 18th July that no information had been filed and on Monday the 20th it was stated that standing in this Colony in the place of a grand Jury there was not in his judgment sufficient evidence whereon to find a true bill.

I therefore directed the prisoners to be discharged.

(Countersigned.) F. T. Huffum, Acting Deputy Registrar.
