estimate the sum of 35 (see note 151) as the amount of disbursements required for each adult emigrant, over and above the gross current expenditure of the month (see enclosure NP2):
3. $1800 a month that beyond a sufficient supply of funds in advance to meet the above current monthly expenditure, and per caput disbursements or such further outlay as incorrect estimates and unforeseen circumstances may require a floating balance. I would venture to suggest for His Excellency's approval, that periodical credit on the Colonial Treasury be given me for the current monthly expenditure; that a separate credit be given according to the number of emigrants the vessel may be entitled to carry; and that should I require any further funds they may be obtainable on application from myself accompanied by an explanation of the circumstances which may have rendered the aforementioned advances insufficient to meet the liabilities of the Agency.
In reply to the second paragraph of your letter, I have the honor to inform you that the property held by the West Indian Emigration Agency at Amoy consists of the lease of the house alluded to in the despatch from W. Murdoch to Sir F. Rogers.
