I am directed by the Duke of Newcastle to inform you
that the office of Superintendent of the Convict Hulk at Stone Cutter's Island, Hong Kong,
is at present vacant, and his Grace desires Sir George Grey to
recommend
were able to
any person from among the Prison Staff in England to fill this appointment,
The salary attached to the office is £400 per annum,
and Quarters will be found for the Superintendent on board the Hulk. He will
further be entitled to a free passage to the Colony,
with half salary from the date
