The enclosed plan shows the thus revised arrangement for Barracks. It must however be understood that the proposals will be submitted to the Principal Medical Officer and the Commanding Royal Engineer for their approval before execution.

I am to add that before any Barracks are built, the trial hut which is about to be constructed will be tested for at least two years in order that the salubrity of the site may be established beyond question, and that the designs of any buildings to be erected between the Barracks and the sea shall be submitted through the Officer Commanding the Troops.

With regard to the sites proposed to be reserved for future Batteries, which it seems would interfere with accommodation desirable for the Public, it is possible that
