One million three hundred and sixty nine thousand seven hundred and thirty five Dollars and fifty four cents, being Two hundred and seven Dollars and forty two cents $204.42 Excess of the expenditure of the previous year, and further that the sum remitted to the Imperial Post Office amounted to eighteen thousand five hundred and sixty three Pounds eighteen shillings and nine pence, or £18,563-18-9 Eight thousand three hundred and four Pounds, eighteen shillings and six and halfpence £8,304-18-6½ in excess of the Imperial Revenue of the previous year; so that the total Revenue of the Hongkong Post Office for the last year reached the sum of one hundred and thirty two thousand seven hundred and thirty five Dollars and fifty seven cents, or $1,327,735.57

a total excess of Fifty five thousand nine hundred and seventy six Dollars and eighty seven cents, $55,976.87 over the previous year's Revenue of seven cents, whilst the expenditure has been increased only to the extent of Forty three Pounds four shillings and threepence £43-4-3; these great increases in the Revenue are accounted for by the increase in some measure by the rates of postage which took place in October 1867, and partly by the increase in the correspondence to and from China and Japan.
