The crime was committed within the Colony, and I have therefore to ask your Grace's permission to follow the same course as that directed to be taken by your Grace's Despatch No. 108 of 28th November 1860 in the case of a man named McCoold, which was reported in Sir Hercules Robinson's Despatch No. 91 of 23rd July 1860.

I may observe that there is no Asylum in the Colony or Establishment in which an insane prisoner can be kept.
