A Petition presented by Ng Fong Shan at present employed in the Supreme Court as Shroff and Clerk praying that you will be pleased to represent to His Excellency the Governor and to obtain his sanction to this his application.
Your petitioner was in the month of January 1843 appointed by the then Governor as Chinese Clerk in the Chief Magistrates Court where he remained for 7 years, and in the year 1850 he was removed to his present situation thus making a period of 20 years service which he has performed faithfully.
