the Civil List Ordinance (No. 13 of 1860) and fixing £400 a year instead of £300 as the Salary of the Assistant Clerk, and in the meantime to grant an allowance of £100 a year to commence on 1st July next.
2. It is not my intention to issue this allowance until I have received your Grace's approval.
3. Mr Da Silva is a very meritorious officer, and the proposed increase will put him on the same footing as other first clerks in the service, and I therefore recommend the application to your Grace's favourable consideration.
