that the Second Shroff was dismissed from Service

on the occasion of the defalcation which

was discovered in the Treasury Chest

On

the

2nd October last, there being little moral doubt

of his being the guilty party.

The first Shroff through his surety

has been made responsible for the loss, and I

have therefore thought it advisable to accede

to his request, and have authorized the

payment to him of thirty-six Dollars, £7.10.0

the amount of six months half Salary

The first Shroff is still doing

the duties of the Second Shroff

and I have, until the

office is filled up, authorized

his drawing the half salary of that

office; and I have to ask

Your Grace's

approval and Sanction to this Expenditure

which is provided for in the Estimation of the

current year.
