With reference to the application of the Officers of your Department for an increase of Salary I am directed by His Excellency the Acting Governor to inform you that it is his intention to provide, subject to the approval of the Secretary of State, for an increase of Salary to Messrs Barradas, Leiria, Machado and Alves in the Estimates for the year 1864.
