Directed by The Duke of Newcastle to transmit to you for the information of the Lords Commissioners of the Treasury, a copy of a despatch from the Officer Administering the Government of Hongkong, reporting the further employment of Mr. Carvalho in the Surveyor General's Department, for a term of three months at a salary of $50 per mensem.
His Grace has expressed to the Acting Governor his approval of this expenditure.
