This is the best preferred site for cultivation for the following reasons, firstly, there is an extraziva and relatively level valley floor below 50 metres which can be readily turned into arable fields. Secondaly, water for irrigation purpose and domestic consumption is available as evidenced by the streams Thridly the region is well protected by hills op all sides, thus having little to lose during the typhoon visits. Fourthly, the road can be relied
upon as a communication means for sending products to the market and for movement of people.

The communications of the region are confined to Lowlands below 50 metres except in the south- western comer where the road begins its gradual, ascent over the slope. Where roads and railways cross rivers, bridges are built. The railway line runa roughly north-west and south-east, taking advantage of the gap between a southwards terminating and a northwards terminating spur. One of the roads uns more or less parallel to the railway though it later crosses over to its other side, at a level. crossing. The other rad takes a fairly straight course on the lowland be ween two streams in the western part of the map. One may safely condlude that relief is an effective control on communicatione in this region.

The settlement occupies a level site at the head of a bay which affers safe anchorage for fishing boats and fishing has developed. It is the natural outlet for the main valley on the map through which fruits and agricultural produce are sent to urban markets. It commands road and rail trafre and therefore movements of goods and people. are easy. Moreover, it has a reliable supply. of electricity transmitted by the power line, Inhabitants here can enjoy modern facilities as well as set up small manufacturing plants.
