The garrison of Hong Kong, together with married Soldiers Quarters, at the General Hospital, shall be treated there.
It is also desirable that land should be reserved for Murray and around for the Commissariat; and also for the erection of buildings for Military stores, in order that the Imperial Govt may not hereafter find themselves compelled to pay the enormous rents they are now doing on account of the want of buildings to hold them.
All these and other such points will be laid before the Commission by Col. Mann.
Rear Admiral Jones has appointed Capt Borlase R. N. to be the Naval Member of the Commission & I shall be glad to know when the Surveyor General of the Colony will be prepared to meet Col. Mann & Capt. Borlase to form the Commission ordered by H.M. Govt.
