I have the honor to forward copies of correspondence that has passed between Sir H. Robison & myself on the subject of the distribution of land in Kowloon.
On the 18th Ultimo the peninsula was formally taken possession of by Lord Elgin & the lease which had been obtained by Mr. Parkes under my authority was cancelled.
By Lord Elgin's authority the peninsula, together with Stone Cutters Island, was placed under the jurisdiction of the See? of State for War
