The Executive Council met to-day at noon by special Summons.

The Hon'ble The CHIEF JUSTICE.
The Hon'ble The COLONIAL SECRETARY.
The Minutes of last Meeting were read, corrected, and confirmed.
It having been reported by the Clerk of Councils that one month's time was required for the printing of Mr. Caldwell's Defence, the Council decided on proceeding with the charges brought against Mr. May by Mr. Caldwell, and entered on the Minutes of the last Meeting.
Mr. Caldwell was called on to proceed with his charges.
Mr. May begged, before the charges brought by Mr. Caldwell against him were pro- ceeded with, to draw the attention of His Excellency to the fact that Mr. Cald- well had, in a pamphlet purporting to be a Vindication of his own conduct, made an allusion to him as the head of the Police that he had obtained the wealth he was said to possess by bribery.
