284 Hospital.
From the enlarged Plan (No.2) of the Military Cantonment, hereto annexed, it is very clear that of the two, the latter design is far preferable to the former, and as a site for a Naval Hospital can be procured at the point marked B. in Plan 1 equally eligible.
In a sanitary point of view, and in all others, except that of distance from the Shipping, superior to the one in question, I can have no hesitation in recommending that should the site proposed by the Military for their cantonment be conceded that I originally contemplated for the Naval Hospital should be included in it.
On the other hand should the Military Cantonment be placed on the site proposed by the Governor which their Lordships will remark includes that I have pointed out as adapted for a Naval Hospital, I recommend that the concession which His Excellency offers should be accepted, with this alteration to which in such case there is no doubt he will readily accede, that it shall be
