From a correspondence between the Governor, and Rear Admiral Jones, together with a letter addressed by the former to the Colonial Secretary, reference to it, copies of which are annexed, their Lordships will observe that the site required by the Navy for a Coal Store has been already conceded by His Excellency, and it further appears that he recommends the concession of the site which I pointed out for a Naval Hospital, the eligibility of which in a sanitary point of view is very satisfactorily confirmed by its selection for the same purpose by the Military - vide report page 2.

In Plan 1 their Lordships will remark that the site I proposed for a Naval Hospital was not included in the original design of the Military Cantonment, and I am informed by Colonel Mann that the extension of the design from which the annexation has resulted arose from his having been directed to alter it by the substitution of a General for a Regimental ...
