It is essential that the appointment should be held by a Master in the Royal Navy.
Although the Office will probably not be vacant for some months, I think it well to communicate thus early with your Lordship. Since, I understand it will be necessary to obtain the sanction of the Admiralty before Mr Tromsett, whose term of Service in the "Princess Charlotte" has expired, can accept the permanent Civil appointment.
