various schools scattered throughout that colony
For the purpose of putting this scheme into operation the Late Mr. Jobinson has purchased, with the concurrence of his Legatees, certain premises late the property of the American Baptist Society, at £6,770.16.8.
The total cost is £24,270 for which sum it is proposed to make provision in a Supplementary Estimate, and the Land Officer who has been on the spot advises that His Excellency feels little doubt that this transaction may be safely authorized by their Lordships, but Lord John Russell thinks he has considered it necessary to require further information as to the existing state of the schools in the colony and as to the details of the proposed scheme with reference to its operation and to its expense.
