these temporary buildings are to be removed by the Military Authorities at the conclusion of
the
hot weather, provided Your Excellency should then require the
ground,
and
provided that some
other site, equally good for the health
of
the
troops, be allotted for re-erecting the huts taken down.

With reference to the letter of His Excellency the Governor of yesterday's date
enclosing one from the Surveyor General enclosing a plan marked L. in the Surveyor General's letter,
I have the honour to state that I concur generally with the views of the Surveyor General, and sanction one
of two courses, viz:-
1st That the huts now in course of erection be continued, with the understanding that
they be removed at the end of the hot season
if
the spot should not be selected by Her Majesty's Government for the permanent cantonment.
or 2nd The required huts be erected on some other site.
