Hong Kong currency.

4th May. Kung

The present ordinance found refer in certain clauses of laws.

"I have spoken of Brighting".

In 7th. Robinson.

I have read your dispatch.

Governor's date & proposals with respect to a new coinage for Hongkong, but am not worth understand how it will be practical to carry out his views at last as regards the 20 millions of new "cash," the making of "change," which he purposes to issue at 1000 to the dollar.

Which he wishes, chiefly, for the settlement of the small change question.

These 'cash' he proposes & wishes to be made of bronze, to weigh not less than 58 grains each.

I understand 'bronze' (as far as I can learn) to be a compound of copper & tin or more.

7th March, 1861.

for its improvement.
