During this period he has earned the respect and esteem of all those with whom his official duties have associated him, together with the unqualified satisfaction and approval of his superiors. He has lately held the responsible post of Harbor Master, where his great knowledge of the Chinese language has been eminently beneficial to the Colony.
His being compelled to proceed home on Medical Certificate is a source of deep regret to this Government, and it will be very difficult to find an Officer to take his place, possessing the qualifications, the Integrity, and the efficiency of Mr. Inglis.
