desire more earnest thought to continue to serve Her Majesty while fit to do so, in a temperate climate, should such arrangement be possible. In the event of this being granted again I would petition for a reconsideration of my Case by the Government at Home. Should my Case come before the Lords of the Treasury by the 7th of May next, I shall then have "Nine years, two months and sixteen days" service; and considering the climate in which I have served, and the satisfaction I have always given to this Government in the performance of the duties of so many different offices, I most respectfully pray that a Pension on the scale of Ten years ordinary service be granted.
I would also beg to mention that my salary on the Civil List of £700 a Year, was fixed at that sum, I am informed, because the ...
