Report of the District Magistrate of Sin-hwei.
On the 16th May the Ex-deputy Nan-hai Magistrate Hsieh Kwei arrived at Sin-hwei,
And delivered a letter3 from His Excellency (the Governor General) to the effect that the writer has been requested by M. Parkes, the British Commissioner, to appoint an Officer for the purpose of proceeding, accompanied by Li-a-quan and others, fellow servants (of the criminal) to the border of Ho-shan and Sin-hwei Districts, in order to effect the arrest of a man guilty of a serious robbery;
