men was handed over from Her Majesty's Ship "Imperieuse" to be imprisoned for three months in Houghong jail under sentence of Mr Consul ... Type, such sentence being revised and

augmented by

Mr Alcock, the British

Minister in Japan.

Mr. May (for the chief Magistrate temporarily absent) indorsed Mr ...'s warrant of Committal and the clerk who wrote the Endorsement, referred to the order in Council of 22 March 1859.

Application was made yesterday to the Supreme Court for M. Mon's discharge, his Counsel having several grounds to urge, but commencing with the Indorsement above quoted.
