to accept so generous a present from Her Britannic Majesty's Government.
As our present term of lease may terminate any day, (though the proprietor of Morrison's Hill has generously intimated to us, not to feel uneasy about quitting) we feel it of the greatest importance, to commence building at once, and we would, therefore, humbly pray His Excellency to give such directions as would enable us to begin building.
As it may save trouble, we take the liberty of stating, that we would gladly accept of any site, however distant from the town, if it be easy of access and provided with water. The place between the Western slaughter house and Shik tong-tsuw (Stone cutter Village) is not likely to be required for European residences, we would feel greatly indebted to His Excellency granting us a site in that direction.
