My Lords
1907/116
General Post Office
314
6th September 1860
With reference to the letter from the Colonial Office of the 18th Ultimo which has been referred to this Department, I have to state that I cannot concur in the proposal of the Governor of Hong Kong respecting the payment to be made by this Office on account of the British Post Office Agencies at the Consular Ports in China and Japan; and that, as it appears from Sir H. Robinson's Dispatch that the Government of Hong Kong is not desirous of having the management of these Agencies, I do not wish to pursue the matter further.
