I have laid before Lord Russell your Letter of the 20th ultimo, stating that instructions have been given to Mr Rennie Auditor of Hong Kong, who is now in England on leave of absence, on half Salary as Auditor of Colonial Accounts during the absence, and that he has been directed to apply to this Department for payment of his half Salary.
