or the purport of this letter should be forwarded to the Colonial Office, with an intimation that it would in the opinion of their Lordships be desirable to direct the Governor of Hong Kong

to prepare, in conjunction with the Law Officers, and to forward to this country for conformation by Her Majesty in Council, the Draft of Additional Rules and Regulations

and a Table of Fees, with a view of

enabling the Vice Admiralty Court to

dispose in a

summary and inexpensive

manner of these small Piratical Cases.

"The present

too would be a convenient time

for undertaking

a work of this description,

when the subject of the revision of the Rules generally of Vice Admiralty Courts is under

consideration, and to which I ventured

to call their Lordships attention in

my letter

of the 18th instant. And it would rest with

their Lordships hereafter to say whether

if the proposed Additional Rules and Fees were

approved of, they

should

not be extended to other Vice Admiralty Courts as well as that of Hong Kong.
