years penal Servitude.

I inclose the correspondence, which has taken place on the subject from which your Grace will see that I have not felt myself at liberty to remit the sentence passed upon them, though I am willing to recommend their transportation to India in deference to the opinions of Major Probyn and other Officers.

This can only be done under an order in Council by delegation of power to myself, if rightly read the Act 6 Geo. IV. Cap. 69, and I accordingly apply for your Grace's Instructions in the matter.

I have the honour to be, My Lord Duke, your Grace's Most Obedient Servant,

William Robinson
