leave on half pay... his salary will cease this date, unless before the End of the month he shall determine to go to England in terms of my letter No 993 of 9th instant, in which case His Excellency the Governor will recommend him to the Executive Council for Six months further leave on half Salary.
You will take charge of the office from this date as Acting Post Master General and will receive half the Salary of the Post Master General together with half your own as Assistant Post Master General.
The question of appointing an Acting Assistant Post Master General will be dealt with hereafter.
I am also to state that the Audit Office arrangements will remain unchanged.
